What is Longevity Munich?

Longevity Munich is a free, science-based community for people in Munich who want to stay healthy for longer. Since 2023 the Munich chapter of Longevity Cities has brought people together around the habits that matter most for healthy ageing: movement, sleep, nutrition, stress and good relationships. No medical background needed, just curiosity.

There are several meetups a month. The Longevity Munich Dinner takes place on the last Saturday of every month, the Pretzel Run is an easy 5K along the Isar, and in winter the group meets for cold plunges in the Eisbach and at the Kabelsteg. Mountain hikes to the Herzogstand, Brecherspitz and Tegernsee leave from the Hauptbahnhof, and evening talks cover topics from functional breathing to metabolism testing and relationship patterns.

Joining is free: create an account, join the Munich WhatsApp group linked on this page and pick a date from the calendar. Longevity Munich is a community, not a longevity clinic. People come here to learn, compare notes on tests and check-ups, and ask experts their questions at talks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Longevity Munich?+
Longevity Munich is the Munich chapter of Longevity Cities, a free and non-commercial community for healthy ageing founded in 2023. Members meet for runs along the Isar, cold plunges, mountain hikes, a monthly dinner and expert talks on sleep, metabolism, breathing and mental health. Anyone interested can join, no scientific background required.
Is there a longevity clinic or longevity doctor in Munich?+
Yes, Munich has several private longevity practices and check-up centres, but Longevity Munich is not one of them: we are a free community and do not diagnose or treat. A private longevity check-up in Germany typically costs around 1,500 to 2,500 euros without imaging, and statutory health insurance does not pay for it. Before booking, ask which physician is responsible, which tests are guideline-based and what each result would change for you.
Where can I test my biological age in Munich?+
In Munich you have three options: an epigenetic test you send off by post (roughly 130 to 400 euros), an extended blood panel through your GP or a private lab (roughly 150 to 450 euros), or fitness markers such as VO2max and grip strength, which you can estimate for free. Epigenetic clocks still differ between providers, so treat one result as a snapshot. Longevity Munich also hosts testing events now and then, such as a metabolism blood test morning in May 2026.
What longevity events are there in Munich?+
Longevity Munich runs several meetups a month. Regular formats are the dinner on the last Saturday of the month, the Pretzel Run along the Isar, cold plunges in the Eisbach, hikes to the Herzogstand, Brecherspitz and Tegernsee, and talks at Blutenburgstraße. Coming up: Sober Wiesn on 3 October 2026 and The PAUSE Summit on women's health on 17 October 2026. All dates are in the calendar on this page.
Is there a run club or cold plunge group in Munich?+
Yes, both. The Pretzel Run is a free, easy 5K along the Isar starting at the Isarpark on Wittelsbacherstraße, followed by pretzels in the park, so walkers and slow runners fit right in. In winter Longevity Munich meets for guided cold plunges in the Eisbach and at the Kabelsteg, with an ice bathing coach explaining what cold does to your body. Never plunge alone, and check with a doctor first if you have heart problems.
How can I meet new people in Munich, for example as a woman over 40?+
Longevity Munich is an easy way to meet people with substance: most newcomers come to their first dinner, walk or hike on their own, and these formats are built for conversation. The community is mixed in age and background. For women over 40, talks such as The Hormone Conversation (May 2026) and The PAUSE Summit on female health 40+ (17 October 2026) combine meeting others with real information.
Where can I find a biohacking community in Munich?+
Longevity Munich is a free place in Munich to talk biohacking and healthy living with an evidence filter. Members swap experiences with cold exposure, breathwork, wearables and nutrition, and talks put those ideas against the research: past sessions covered rapamycin, metabolism testing, functional breathing and the blind spots of self-improvement culture. Between meetups, questions go to the Munich WhatsApp group.
What does Longevity Munich cost and how do I join?+
Longevity Munich is free to join: create an account, join the Munich WhatsApp group linked on this page and register for an event in the calendar. Runs like the Pretzel Run, walks and cold plunges are usually free. You pay for what you consume or book yourself, such as your meal at the monthly dinner, the train to a mountain hike or a ticket for a partner summit, and each listing states that upfront.
Are Longevity Munich events in English or German?+
Most Longevity Munich events are announced in English and conversations switch easily between English and German, so the community works well for internationals living in Munich. Talks state their language in the listing. If you are new to the city, the dinners and hikes are a relaxed way in.
