What is Longevity Riyadh?

Longevity Riyadh is a free, science led community for people who want more healthy years, and it is the Riyadh chapter of the Longevity Cities network. The city has spent recent years rebuilding itself around movement. The Sports Boulevard has opened walking and cycling routes along Wadi Hanifah, King Salman Park is turning old airport land into public greenery, and evening crowds now walk through Diriyah rather than drive past it. Prevention also sits inside national policy through the Quality of Life Program, so the subject rarely needs defending in a room here.

Free meetups, expert talks and hands on workshops carry most of the calendar, alongside community challenges where a group holds one habit for a few weeks and reports back. Topics come round again and again: biological age, sleep in a city that lives late, strength training, nutrition through Ramadan and long family dinners, VO2max (a measure of how much oxygen you can burn at full effort) and what to do with a lab result that came back worse than expected. Biohacking is a standing topic, and the group is quick to ask where a claim was actually tested. Heat decides the rest, so anything active belongs to the early morning or the hours after sunset.

People searching for a longevity hub or a longevity clinic in Riyadh usually want one of two things, and we are only one of them. Paid wellness hubs have arrived in the city selling memberships and day passes for cold water immersion, hyperbaric oxygen, infrared sauna and body scanning, while private practices offer preventive check ups. We do none of that. Longevity Riyadh has no premises, no equipment, no medical staff and nothing to buy, and membership costs nothing. What you get instead is people who already paid for one of those packages and will tell you plainly whether the report changed anything. Our community Spots map pins labs, gyms and studios across Riyadh so you have somewhere to begin, and we vet none of them medically.

Who turns up varies a lot: physicians and researchers from the big hospitals, founders, people who moved here for work last year, and someone who read one book about ageing and wants a sanity check. Events run in Arabic and English, often both within the same hour, and nobody minds which one your question comes in. To start, create a free account, join the Riyadh WhatsApp group or simply come to the next event. Nobody has to approve you and there is no waiting list.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Longevity Riyadh?+
Longevity Riyadh is the free Riyadh chapter of the Longevity Cities network, open to anyone who wants to understand what actually keeps people healthy for longer. Meetings move around the city and usually mean a talk, a workshop or an evening built mostly around questions. Members range from hospital physicians and researchers to people who have never tracked a single health marker. Nothing is charged and nothing is sold, and no scientific background is expected of you. Dates reach most people through the events feed or the WhatsApp group for Riyadh.
Is Longevity Riyadh a longevity club or a paid health club?+
Longevity Riyadh is a club in the sense of people rather than premises: no building, no membership tier, no monthly bill. The city has real paid health clubs and recovery studios, several of them very well equipped, and what we run is a different arrangement altogether. Belonging to both at once is common and causes nobody any trouble. Since there is no sign up desk and no fee, nothing about your job title or your training history is anyone's business here. You decide how often you come.
Is there a longevity hub or longevity centre in Riyadh, and is that you?+
Riyadh does have commercial longevity hubs and wellness centres, and Longevity Riyadh is not one of them. Those venues sell memberships and day passes covering cold water immersion, hyperbaric oxygen, infrared sauna, red light and body composition scanning. We keep no rooms, take no bookings and earn nothing when you book with them. If you searched for a longevity hub in Riyadh and wanted the free version, this is it: a group that meets, compares notes and reads the underlying studies together before spending money.
Where can I find a longevity doctor, clinic or treatment in Riyadh?+
We cannot refer you to a doctor, because Longevity Riyadh has no medical staff and no clinical role of any kind. Riyadh offers several routes: large hospitals such as King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, private practices with a preventive or functional focus, and companies selling scans and blood panels directly to consumers. Quality and price vary widely, which is exactly why members compare experiences out loud at meetups. The Spots map pins practices, labs and studios members have visited, and we do not vet any of them medically.
Do you offer longevity coaching, training programmes or seminars in Riyadh?+
No. Longevity Riyadh sells no coaching, no programmes and no seminars, and nobody here acts as your coach. What exists instead is a free calendar: expert talks where a researcher or clinician presents and then takes hard questions, workshops where you try a method yourself, and community challenges that keep a group honest for a few weeks. Corporate wellness providers and private coaches do work in the city, and some members use them. We stay out of that market and keep the room free.
What longevity events, meetups and biohacking sessions happen in Riyadh?+
The Riyadh calendar runs on four formats. Meetups where the talking is the point, expert talks with a clinician or researcher, workshops with something to try yourself, and community challenges lasting a couple of weeks. Subjects rotate through sleep, strength training, nutrition, testing and whichever biohacking device people are arguing about that month. Dates go up on this page, in the events feed and in the WhatsApp group for Riyadh. Taking part costs nothing, and nobody expects you to have read anything beforehand.
Is Longevity Riyadh free?+
Yes. Membership costs nothing and almost every event is free to attend. We run no paid tier, nobody pitches a product at the end of a talk, and there is no later point where the platform asks for a card. Occasionally an event carries a genuine cost, for instance when a venue charges for the room or a lab charges for a test, and the listing states that before you sign up. A free account also opens the bilingual guides and the biological age tool on this site.
How do I join Longevity Riyadh?+
Three routes work equally well: create a free account here, join the WhatsApp group for Riyadh, or come to the next event and say hello. None of them needs approval from anybody. WhatsApp tends to move fastest, since dates, venue changes and last minute questions land there before anywhere else. If you would rather see what a meetup looks like first, Instagram and LinkedIn show recent ones. Bringing a friend is welcome, and coming on your own is more common than you would think.
Where can I test my biological age in Riyadh (DEXA, VO2max, bloodwork)?+
Riyadh has decent coverage for DEXA body composition scans, VO2max testing and extended blood panels, spread across private hospitals, diagnostic labs and a few gyms with serious equipment. None of it happens through us, and no provider pays us a commission. A cheap first step is the free biological age estimate on this site, which is based on questions you answer at home rather than a needle. After that, ask in the group: members tend to report what a panel cost and whether anyone explained the numbers afterwards.
Which language are Longevity Riyadh events held in, Arabic or English?+
Both. Events run in Arabic and English, and speakers often switch between them inside one session depending on who asked the question. Arabic has its own everyday phrase for the subject, طول العمر (tul al-umr, literally length of life), which turns up in conversation as easily as the English word longevity. Anyone who speaks only one of the two is never stranded, because somebody will summarise. This page also exists in German, and the guides and tools on the site are bilingual in English and German.
Where in Riyadh do you meet, and which areas does the chapter cover?+
Venues move around instead of sitting in one district, so an evening might land in Al Olaya, near the King Abdullah Financial District, out in Hittin or Al Malqa, or in Diriyah when the weather makes an outdoor spot sensible. The exact address is always in the event listing. The chapter covers the whole Riyadh region, and people travel in from Al Kharj and the newer northern suburbs when a topic is worth the drive. If you can offer a room, say so. Free space is what we run short of.
Does Longevity Riyadh run outdoor sessions, walks or cold plunges, given the heat?+
Our calendar is built from meetups, expert talks, workshops and community challenges rather than a fixed sports programme. Riyadh does turn outdoor formats into a seasonal question: from roughly November to March a morning walk along Wadi Hanifah or a stretch of the Sports Boulevard is a pleasure, while in July nobody sensible trains outside at midday. If you want to run a walk, a padel evening or a cold plunge under the community banner, propose it in the group. Formats here start because a member wanted them.
