Birke Spa

A 90 degree Finnish sauna, a 60 degree Vitalsauna with colour-light therapy, a 45 to 50 degree infrared cabin, a 45 degree salt steam bath and a 40 degree tepidarium, plus a 6 by 12 metre indoor pool at 29 degrees, a Kneipp basin, foot baths and a Feng Shui wellness garden with a barefoot path. Treatments are given by state-certified aestheticians and masseurs.

Yes. Day guests are welcome and should register in advance by phone or email at the spa reception. Admission is 32 euros Monday to Thursday from 10:00 (26 euros from 17:00) and 38 euros Friday to Sunday. If you book treatments worth 140 euros or more per person, entry is free.

Yes. A separate Wellnesspaket costs 8 euros and includes a rental bathrobe, shower towel and sauna towel, with a 35 euro deposit. Ten-visit passes are also available, for example 288 euros for the Monday to Thursday rate.

Birke Spa is at Hotel Birke, Martenshofweg 2-8, 24109 Kiel, near the Kiel Fjord in Schleswig-Holstein. Sauna use and independent spa or pool use require a minimum age of 14; children under 14 receive a 50 percent discount where accompanied.
